Avid Media Composer was the NLE ..

Im willing to bet they used several for compositing & 3D don't be surprised if some were FOSS Linux-based programs.

Software used for editing? Most likely Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer.... neither of which has anything to do with the visual effects seen in the YouTube video.

They used most likely Adobe After Effects, Combustion, or any other compositing program to add the effects, but a 3D program like Lightwave, Maya, or equivalent to add true 3 dimensional CGI like the wings, etc.

It made my skin crawl looking at Natalie Portmans skin on some shots, something I thought would never happen

me too i was impressed on how they execute this film. it was very stunning! i love the cinematography, concept though i easily noticed about the story, everything is so perfect... so far for me because it was the latest film i've watched. hehe
