The Collective International Film Festival -- Call for Short Films!

CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Collective International Film Festival (CIFF) wants YOU to submit your short films!

In an effort to raise the voices of the growing oppressed and disenfranchised, the CIFF works to encourage creative discussion of political, social, or economic topics surrounding both local and global communities through film. Our hope is to create a cross-generational batch of freethinking filmmakers willing to discuss hard subjects of social and economic inequality who will work for a more peaceful, diplomatic, and accepting future.

We are kicking off this inaugural festival in 2017 and would welcome your submissions!

If you think your 3-10 minute short film would fit into any of these categories, we would love for you to submit it. Registration and submission begins May 14, 2016 and goes until January 31, 2017. Our categories reflect our goals, mirroring what we stand by. This year’s categories include:

Living in Poverty pushes filmmakers to think out of the box about an issue that is so often put in the dark, and prodded with opinion. We aim to put a floodlight on poverty, with a globe at its center.

Identity Narratives are the best way to help feel how constricting and different slipping on someone else’s shoes truly is. This is the key to diversity, you never feel closer to someone else after you not only hear, but see their story.

“Fear me not, I mean well” allows contestants to find a common ground on grim issues while being playful and creating awareness for the issue of their choice.

Submission to the CIFF is only $25-$30 and reaps large rewards. Aside from the press your film will receive in the growing film festival hub that is Buffalo and internationally, the CIFF will be giving a total of 18 prizes and one grand prize away. 1st is $500, 2nd is $300, 3rd is $150, per age group and category. The best out of all six first place winner will receive an additional $1,000.

The screening event will be announced by January 31, 2017.
