Canon 814 Auto Zoom vs XL-S

Hey all,
I'm seriously looking to get my hands on an 8mm and was hoping someone could help me out. The model i'm looking most seriously at is the Canon 814(xl-s). So...What is the real difference between the Canon 814 Auto Zoom and the Canon 814 XL-S? Any info/preferences/experiences would help me make a decision. Thanks.

Pretty much anything with a "-S" at the end means the camera was made with a microphone to record sound onto a magnetic stripe on the Super-8 film.

However, noone makes that kind of Super-8 film anymore (not even Kodak)... so it really doesn't matter.

As far as preference - I have the 814 AZ. Great camera.

I have the canon 814 auto zoom and just put 2 rolls through it... i'm already in love with it.. I bought a super 8 book to help with the learning curve.. It did say the the XL serious was more for low light. Dont know if thats true.
