Couchsurfing in CA

hey ya'll ITers living on the west coast! i quit my job in Tokyo and am flying into LA on Wednesday 18th, i have a few friends in the area who've offered me a couch to crash on, but i don't want to overstay my welcome anywhere. i also don't plan on finding a job or a house immediately, i wanna vacation! if any of you would trade a comfy couch for assistant work, photo work, or my wonderful charm and a case of beer, it would be much 'preciated! thanks for reading
