I've been told several times that I tend to come across as much more formal and serious in emails and posts than I am in real life. My humour is rather dry, British and a little python-esque, which I've found to my cost often doesn't translate well, so I tend to avoid exposing it until I get to know someone.

I would contend that dry and python-esque are almost the exact opposite of each other
