I'm casting for the roles of Stella Kowalski and Blanche DuBois from the play, A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennesse Williams for my SVA directing class. This is a multi-ethnic production. We will be presenting 4-5 pages of the play to the class and a master shot will be filmed. Actors will be rehearsed and blocked, be off-book, costumed (basic) and provided with any props needed for the action.

Brief Synopsis:
Blanche DuBois, a troubled former schoolteacher, has left small-town Mississippi and moved to New Orleans to live with her sister, Stella Kowalski, and her husband, Stanley. Blanche's flirtatious Southern-belle presence causes problems for her sister and her husband, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in their household. (Google)

Blanche DuBuois (around 30 years old), refined, Southern-belle, former schoolteacher, Stella's older sister; talkative and fragile; she lives in her own reality; Though she has strong sexual urges and has had many lovers, she puts on the airs of a woman who has never known indignity.
Stella Kowalski (mid-20s), grounded, from old plantation money but now lives of humble means in New Orleans with her Polish husband Stanley; she a mild disposition that visibly sets her apart from her more vulgar neighbors; she is Blanche's younger sister; After Blanche's arrival, Stella is torn between her sister and her husband.
