First time UK producer

I'm an indie film producer in the UK, my feature film is just entering post production and I need to start planning what to do once its ready to be shown. So, i'm basically just open to suggestions, particularly reguarding getting it into festivals. Does anyone know which are the best UK film festivals, I heard Raindance is good?

I have researched Cannes and i'm going to give that a go, although I know its a long shot, "Colin" a £45 UK zombie flim made it so it can be done!

Hopefully i should be in the same situation in a few months, i'm going to keep an eye on this thread.

Have you considered small local screenings? Try College's, universities and small town cinema's, it's brilliant for publicity.

Check out your local theatres.
Mine just finished a film festival for any filmmakers in the area. There were some really impressive films on show.

It also depends on what kind of films you're making. There was a Film 4 sponsored fright fest film festival in london that was featuring Colin and other low budget horror films.
