Frostbite is a science fiction animated short about a scavenger looking for valuables in a crashed freight spaceship and discovering the frightening truth of the transporting goods.

This animated short was a 2nd year project created at the University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU). The entire project took five months to create.

I think the middle was a bit slow, my mind started wandering, but by the end it just grabbed my attention with the chase scene. Strange choice of music at the end. Great finish.

At 3:06 there's a odd cut to black. In a few instances in the film you cut after what could have been an action sequence. That's fine. Choreographed action is hard to do in 3-D, or even in hand drawn animation, but the more you do it the more you come across as cheating the audience from what they expect to see.

I have a question. When you do motion blur for a really fast movement, do you make the blur frame at 50% opacity? Also, do you make the blur frame for before or after the key frame or both?
