watch Branching Out Final Cut (and some other stuff)

Hello hello,

Yes, it took an entire year to shoot and finish this short, and yes, its a short short, and yes, it did not come out as imagined.

BUT it evolved as a project, there are some strong aspects, and from the footage of the story that we shot, I think this is the strongest that this piece will be (with me as an editor, at least). I'm happy with the final cut and I'm happy that I was finally able to finish it and give the people who helped out a final product to watch and use for their resumes maybe.

I also promoted and discussed this project a fair amount on this forum, so I wanted to show everyone the final cut!

Let me know the good, the bad, and the ugly! I would also gladly answer any questions about the project, too, if anyone wants to have a discussion about it.

And if you found that halfway decent, these are a few of the other projects I completed since we started Branching Out last year.

A short stop-motion joke for the "Bad Film Fest:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fExkS1bFMj8

My only comment would be the sound quality. I turned the youtube volume all the way up, as well as my computer speakers all the way up and the external speakers all the way up just to be able to hear it. I'm not sure if it was on my end or the video, so I checked another video and it worked fine. Might be something you want to check out.

Other than that, good job.

Same here, same problem. Way too quiet.

This was actually pretty funny, I liked it. The scene were they are wrestling in the snow I thought was atad to long.

I know i'll come as a giant douchebag but why did it took you an entire year?I mean you could literally shoot this in two days.

I loved the short and loved the behind the scenes photos.

Good luck.

Thanks for the compliments!

@Red Robot, no, fair question.

We did shoot in one day, I only took a week to write and two more to prep and cast. I wanted to be done within the month but once I reviewed footage and performances, I had an issue with how the 2nd half paced together. I reordered and combined many sequences and cut about 3 minutes out of a first draft. Unfortunately, that fixing was a lot of work, a puzzle really, and I would revisit it every month or two and I finally got it right. Or at least to my standards for this project.

I love any and all feedback! I'm a fan of harsh critiques, as long as it's with the intention to help improve, thanks all
