Character Grid

Hi, does anyone use character grids/questions for character development? Do you recommend them? If so could you provide a link to a pdf I can download, cheers.:)

For series writing, yes. For a series bible, you want to have something that other writers can use when you bring them on board. For features, sometimes. Especially when you have complex relationships it's important to know how everyone is related. For most shorts, no.

Actually, there is hidden inside CeltX a character sheet that you can print off that provides a template. You just need to go into the Master Catalog for a character. It's not extensive but gives a good basis. There are different approaches used by different writers. Essentially though, I focus on the following attributes:
Code:
		GENERAL LAYOUT
Name of Character (Last, First) [Role-MAJ., SUPP., INCID.]
	Occupation, Age, General Physical Description
	Build (Height, Weight)
Picture: Visual reference
History: Character Background
Strengths: Potential Resources
Weaknesses: Potential Defects
Skills: Knowledge and Abilities
Approaches: Problem-Solving
Relationships: Who and When
Catch Tags: Recurrent themes or expressions
Other Notes:
Depends of your needs. Hope that helps.
