SAG Contracts

Now that SAG and AFTRA merged, 2 of my actors are affected. Looking on SAGs web site, I think I found a contract that actually applies to most people on this forum. The SAG Short Film contract is for films of 35 minutes or less and budgets under $50,000. It looks like the right one for my production.

This contract has less restrictions than even the SAG ULB Agreement.

We were nonunion. For the production that will folllow this, I believe I have to become a SAG Signatory for a SAG ULB Agreement.

We will use a SAG ULB Agreement to bring in studio actors and a stunt coordinator already willing to work with me. Three of my actors were AFTRA fom last year. Now, they are in the process of becoming AFTRA-SAG from the merger.

Did you have to become SAG Signatory?

Right now, the 2 unions seem to be ironing out how the merger will affect their members from what I'm seeing on the Internet.

The actors want to finish things the way they were and worry about how a SAG ULB Agreemennt will affect them for the feature.

From what I'm reading the cast and filmmaker both have lock downs in the contract.
