GH4 time lapse of stars

I am using the Panasonic G 14-140mm lens. I am not much of a photographer. I am serious newbie at photography. I'm a decent videographer ... just decent :)

I don't get many opportunities to do a time lapse of stars, so, I'd like some help shortening the learning curve.

With this lens, how would you setup your camera to capture those beautiful Milky Way shots. What ISO, shutter speed etc. how long can you leave the shutter open before blurr starts to effect the image?

I'm looking for a starting point. I can snap a few, run in and look at it on the computer and tweak it as needed.

I'm very interested in getting good time lapse of stars. If this is the wrong lens, what should I get?

Thanks!
