Trouble With Location.

Hey everyone, I'm working on this film about a Hitman who works for a drug cartel. I thought I had one location, in a parking lot behind a store, but then I remembered one of the actors will have a gun prop, and that could be bad news. So now I need a new place for that scene, with a wall and where a car can park.

The second thing is I need a building with hallways that can be used as a "hideout" for the cartel, like an abandoned building, a warehouse or something.

I live in Syracuse NY, so if anyone lives there or knows someone who lives there with any ideas please help me.

I always get awesome locations. you gotta get out there and ask. Print up a hand out with a bit about your project, a bit about you, your contact info etc. Put on some decent clothes and start asking. Look for small mom - and - pop type business where you have a good chance of talking with someone in charge right off the bat. Nothing like wasting time selling your self to someone who cant help you because they aren't empowered to say yes.

Be friendly. Everyone wants to be part of the movies, so most WANT to help, but a few will be too worried about liability to actually say yes.. this time.. keep them in mind for the next project.

Every city seems to have a few "community art spaces" in your town looks like badlands is an option..

Try to find a location that is suit to your scenes at lightsonlocation.com. As I know a lot of filmmakers search their filming locations in this site and because of it their searching of location makes easy and fast. But if you want, you can visit http://5401olympic.com and see if that place could fit the scenes that you are going to take.

Hope I helped you somehow!
