Filming for DVD distribution?

Hi folks,

I am currently working on a project that i am hoping to deliver by DVD to around 500 clients. My last projects have been web delivery and I have no experience in filming for DVD.

What should I look out for when shooting that will make life easier down the line?

It will be shot on a hacked GH2.

Kind regards,

Luke.

Thank you very much, I did search DVD but like you say its too short, every day is a learning day though and I now realise I can search the forum through google. I will read the links now, thanks.

Don't shoot interlaced HD: downscaling can look terribly ugly. (Especially when field order gets inverted as well)

Some say: shoot 720p50, so it can easily be downconverted to SD 50i (or 720p60 for 60i or whatever the precise numbers are for NTSC)
However, that means it won't be ever available as full HD.

I shoot all my stuff 1080p HD and when I put it on DVD (PAL 50i) I see no problems arise from exporting progressive footage as interlaced.

What software do you edit in?
