Motion 5.06 and FCP7

I have Motion 4, Motion 5.06 and FCP 7.03

Motion 4 is compatible with FCP7.03 which is great but Motion 5.06 means I have to move all the files into .mov before I can play with them. Does anyone else use this peculiar combo and know how this all works?

I haven't bought the new motion yet so take this with the proverbial grain of salt but I think what you're doing is the only way. Apple cut all ties with the old software when they introduced FCX. So no round tripping or any of that good stuff we got used to. Just export your compositions as video files and import them into FCP. Honestly I used to work that way mostly anyway as I found round tripping could get a little funky and it's what I have to do now with my Edius/AE workflow so I definitely wouldn't consider that the end of the world.
