My Newbie Computer Build

A netbook. A netbook is my video editing vessel to make videos. However, just getting into special effects and other things, rendering takes too long for me to wait. So I want to change.

Budget up to 600-700
Camera is the Canon Rebel T3I.
Complete NEWBIE when it comes to knowing about computers (such as processing, int/ext storage, etc.).

Im heading to Best Buy tomorrow, can you give me some tips on what would be on a good computer.

Also, if you have any computer in mind, don't be afraid to suggest them ( just remember the budget)

Netbook, that's like a Chromebook, right?

600-700 dollars you could make a decent rig, nothing that can really do sfx, but still something. Will still render pretty slow as well.

Checkout PCPartPicker.com for build guides or Newegg for prebuilt rigs. (Do note, prebuilt costs more.)

I would suggest looking up local custom computer design businesses in your area, finding out which one is best (reviews), doing some research on the specs your computer needs, and then going to they custom computer store to have them make it for you. Typically the people at those places are very knowledgable and could help you build a good computer for s decent price.

Never buy a laptop... They can't handle heavy duty renderings and will crash. They just suck. Buy a sexy ass desktop. You want 8 cores and 16 gigs of ram. For your budget, you might have to go 4 cores and 8 gigs. That is the bare minimum.

Dell Optiplex is a good PC for commercial software . They have lots of models that can handle a lot of work. I have a 12 gig HP Pavilion and it's awesome. I want an Optiplex though. I want a large $2,000 Optiplex... For porn. JK, people use their phones for that now. Where was I going with this?
