film editing techniques

hello guyz, can anybody please provide me some handy examples of different film editing techniques e.g ( jump cut, match cut) used in different films. Looking for some good videos on film editing techniques. I hope will get a soon reply with regards.

I would echo to watch films, get a feel for how they cut, and then practice them yourself. Then watch back a day or two later and you'll see things that worked and didn't work (gives you a fresh eye walking away from the project for a time). Honestly, practicing will start giving you ideas to try in terms of cutting. And you'll most likely notice you're doing some of the things you see in films regardless of knowing the names or not.

Here's some helpful hints: Cut on the action, match eyelines, don't cross the 180 line and film LOTS of cutaways. Remember these as you direct and edit and you have a shot at a non-goofy film. (Google to learn more about each).

Good luck.
