Louise Levison's latest newsletter.

Louse Levison's latest newsletter is out, and she's giving tips on how to approach people at the upcoming AFM. What is also interesting, however, is her chart of revenues and costs for low budget films. From what I can see, the lower budgetted ones have a better chance of making money than the bigger budget ones. And I've been seeing some evidence of this in my research.

Louise Levision has spoke to industry executives on how the film market is slower than usual, and the consensus seems to be yes, this is a slow period. But all industries go through that, so we can hope for an upswing again.

Again, the interesting thing are the numbers, especially for low-budget movies. I did some more digging, and, while there is some data, there is a need for greater detail. As I write this, I am fascinated by the production approach of Space: 1999, which tried to have the TV shows with cinematic quality, and that means, often, trying to do more for less. That is intriguing to me.
