7d Noise and/or busyness in picture

The graineyness only happens sometimes and I'm trying to figure out if its the lighting or is it the setting I have the camera set on.

edit: I just went through the manual and it says it has something to do with how I have the iso set? What is the best option on the lil dial to record with? I've been recording on the tv option...

M is the best option. "Manual", but you'll need to learn to set everything.

The expanded ISO's in multiples of 160 are what you want to stick to on the 7. 160, 320, 480, 640, 800, 960 etc. Try to keep it under 800 and adjust the aperture and add light if it's too dark.
