Hello All, New to This

Hello All!

I am new to all this. I live between Philadelphia and New York City. I do human rights advocacy and figured film/video is the way to go to get the word out. I joined here to figure out my next step (I already story boarded). I also want to get advice from people who have already done projects. Even though this forum focusses on Indie films, it by far was the best forum that I have found in relation to film making.

I think that my biggest problems are the fact that I am tackling a controversial issue. I am going to be looking for a lot of feedback in regards to this.

My first post about my project is going to be in "Making the Film" "Newbies." I will go in to much more detail.

Indeed, the main focus seems to lie on fiction, but there are also people on IT doing 'corporate stuff'.
I'm one of these people: I'm a professional filmmaker making corporate videos (including promos, commercials, event registrations, etc... all the visual storytelling a business may need) for a living.

Some questions to start with:

- who is your target audience?
- what is your message?
- what is the goal of the video?
- why should people keep watching? (what is in it for them?)
- what makes you unique?
