Prop-stocking time! - Halloween almost here

Well, it's still a few months away... but party stores the country over should be receiving their Halloween inventory this week.

This is great news for the campy horror filmmaker, but there is a lot of fun stuff available for everyday use as well, including beards, hill-billy teeth, fake plastic weapons and cheap robes/uniforms.

It may be better to rent "real" costumes from a costume rental shop in the long haul, but if you love the little doo-hickeys and obscure little items... those items you neglected to pick up last year are coming back.

Yes, it's much cheaper to buy the goodies after October 31 when they go closeout... but you also are left to pick from whatever is left over. :(

Today's great find was a dozen black roses, for $3 8)

Nice! Be sure to check out the dedicated Halloween supply stores, in addition to party stores. A bunch of them have cropped up this week in my area.

Yeah, I hope my local Wally World has their stuff out by now. This new thing I'm working on has zombies and demons and such, so the timing couldn't be better.

If anyone out there has some zombie makeup tips, please holler!

You can get some good pointers on horror FX & tips at Monster Lab.

Also at the Fangoria.com forums (though Monster Lab is friendlier)
