Heh, not including any actual musicals I got:

Heavy Metal
Wayne's World
2001: A Space Odyssey
The Crow
Pretty In Pink

I forgot all about Heavy Metal and The Crow. I love "The Big Empty" by STP.

From a purely technical and musical standpoint, my favorite film score of all time is 'The Lord of the Rings'. Epic, at times surreal, mysterious, and beautiful. The music IS the movie. The rest of my top 5..

2. The Red Violin
3. Departures
4. Braveheart
5. Sherlock Holmes

Just some.....

STAR WARS (A NEW HOPE and EMPIRE STRIKES BACK)
RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
CAT PEOPLE
28 WEEKS LATER (yes, the sequel)
BLADE RUNNER
STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE (Jerry Goldsmith and the Blaster Beam)
ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK and ESCAPE FROM LA (The latter movie sucked, but the music was brilliant!)
TRANSFORMERS (Great sound effects and music)
NEAR DARK and FIRESTARTER (Tangerine Dream)
THE TERMINATOR
THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL (1951 version)
BLUE THUNDER
CREEPSHOW
PHANTASM
ROBOCOP
STARSHIP TROOPERS
EDWARD SCISSORHANDS

Not really "workout music," but really effective:

THE OMEN
JAWS
PSYCHO
PLANET OF THE APES

I've got two lists.

Top 5 soundtracks that are the perfect marriage of soundtrack and film
Psycho
Jaws
Edward Scissorhands
Amelie
Star Wars

Top 5 soundtracks to listen to
Cinema Paradiso
Back to the Future
Stargate
Red Dragon
Schindlers List (when John Williams first saw the film he turned to Spielberg and said "I'm not good enough to score this film and Spielberg responded with "I know but all the good ones are dead"

No-one's mentioned THE FOUNTAIN by Clint Mansell - breathtaking stuff.

Morricone deserves a nod for GOOD, BAD and UGLY

Top Fives are really hard, but the other three I'd add are Ry Cooder's PARIS TEXAS, Eric Clapton and Michael Kamen's HOMEBOY and John Williams STAR WARS - EP 4.
