CALL FOR ENTRIES: Comedy films needed!

Whirlygig Cinema supports up-and-coming filmmakers by hosting diverse short film programmes. Last year we pioneered Making Tracks, a platform for filmmakers to get recognised by nerving their work re-scored live. Through a collaboration with film score artists The Cabinet of Living Cinema we were able to show films that had never been seen in public before, or simply put a new spin on them.

Our next event will see Whirlygig continue to find its feet on its own, by presenting a series of shorts with their original soundtracks attached (not necessarily musical). We hope to put a tickle in your eye and a sparkle in your belly through a programme of 'funny' films, one of which could be yours!

This time we are looking for films that dabble in humour, from the subtly sublime to the totally ridiculous. The film doesn't necessarily have to be laugh out loud funny, it could simply be a bit quirky and charming to trigger the slightest of smiles. Any kind of humour is also accepted, from dark to light, naive to risqué. This event will take place at The Horse Hospital in Central London, in the mundane month of March.

Films should be no longer than 10 minutes, with clear image and sound. Please email katie@whirlygigcinema.com to find out details of where to send films to. Online links (Vimeo, Youtube, etc) to samples of your work are also welcome in your first email. The deadline for sending your work is Friday 18th February.
