Audience members WANT to contribute to local indie film, whether it’s financial, food, props or in some other way.
We are developing the ability for filmmakers to create a laundry list of items they need for their productions so that audience members or other local filmmakers can contact you directly and offer you what’s on your list.
At the same time, we are creating an organized space for audience members who want to donate props, food, time or whatever to an indie production. Maybe they have a unique lamp, an impressive room or an old dress that a filmmaker could use.
Audience members would take a picture and/or simply add a description and categorize the item they are willing to donate or temporarily lend.
We think audience members and other filmmakers should be donating items for free, and only place a replacement cost in case it is damaged by the filmmaker.
Let us know how you think we can improve this idea. We think there are plenty of people who can lend free items to an indie film production (well, maybe not in LA). They are easy to spot, they stand in long lines to see movies at festivals.
We have a marketing strategy to get this going too...
