Another Canadian

I just found this site today and I don't know how I've managed without it. A lover of Lynch, Egoyan, Gilliam, Tarentino, Coen Brothers and more. My campus has no film production courses so I'm quite the newbie, but I've always loved telling stories and this is how I want to do it. If there are any other Canadians here, I've made a social group for us! http://www.indietalk.com/group.php?groupid=21

I'm also looking for a decent 8 mm (or possibly 16 mm) film camera at low cost. Any suggestions?

Hey dude!:welcome:

Where do you hail from? I'm from Ontario myself. Hey! Seriously start watching Canadian Films there are quite a few good ones out there.

I'm kinda stuck in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-- nowhere near any of Canada's big film communities (Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver). I still enter in the local campus film festival every year. I love Canadian film, like Last Night, Milo 55160, and Adoration just off the top of my head. There's also some great Canadian-French stuff I can't remember the names of.

Welcome Grasshopper!

I'm one of the audio guys here.

Keep in mind that the search function is your friend. Everyone here is always very glad to help you out, but a lot of the "basics" questions have been asked and answered many times.

And always remember:

I have a Canon 814 AZ (Super-8) & a Beaulieu 16R (16mm). I can answer any q's you might have about those two in particular, but I don't really know much about any other models. There are some celluloid-geeks on the forums, as well as a specific section for film in Media Formats. Might find some good info there, or at least a place to ask something new.

:)
