This may only be of interest to those in the UK, but I was browsing the photography section in WHSmiths and came across DSLR FilmMaker magazine. It's brand new, issue 1 only hit shelves this week. It's actually quite a good read, with some really useful info in there. It's got sections that actually focus on the fundamentals of filmmaking. It's also got interviews with filmmakers, product reviews, etc.
Not sure how useful future issues ( which, according to their facebook page, will be known as Digital Filmmaker Magazine, with less focus on DSLR) will be, but issue 1 is a great beginners guide.
