I'm pretty new to the film/video production, freelancing, and the start-up world and am looking for resources or advice on a few legal things.
The cliffs notes version of my situation...
- I'm partnering a in media start-up that will do video work and social media marketing for crowdfunding campaigns.
- I'm also hoping to pursue individual freelance work as a videographer and editor.
Would I need to create two separate LLC's (or LLC and a sole proprietorship)?
What route would you guys recommend for creating an LLC and getting established with contract templates to give to clients, etc? LegalZoom or going to an actual attorney?
I have no idea where to start with this. Any resource recommendations on these specific issues would also be much appreciated.
