Apex 175 Shotgun Mic

Does anyone have experience shooting with it? You can find them pretty cheap, but I'm seeing a little bit of feedback on the web that says the tend to get buzzy sounding with age. Anyone experienced this?

You can't cheap out on sound, the number one problem with "no-budget" indie flicks is SOUND! Everyone buys these nice cameras and then they cheap out on a mic or use the camera mic. Remember, sound is 50% of the experience. Sennheiser is good, and AT is a good, more affordable option.
