Why are producer credits listed in clumps?

Why, for movies are producer credits listed in clumps sometimes? For example, according to its credits, "Star Trek Into Darkness" was, according to its credits, "produced by JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk" and then in a separate credit, "produced by Damon Lindelof."

Another example: Pacific Rim was, according to its credits, "produced by Jon jashni and Thomas tull" and then "produced by Guillermo del Toro and Mary parent" Another example: The Dark Knight was "produced by Emma Thomas" and then "produced by Charles roven" and then "produced by Christopher Nolan" Another example: Transformers was "produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura" and then "produced by tom desanto and don Murphy" and then "produced by Ian Bryce." last example: 300 was "produced by Gianni nunnari" and then "produced by mark canton" and then "produced by Bernie Goldmann and Jeffrey silver"

Contracts. Plain and simple.

Some producers require a producer credit on their own card, others are a producing team IE, notice all the JJ Abrams guys from Bad Robot were on one credit, and all the people from Skydance Productions were on another one for the same film.

What about the order in which these "clumps" are listed? Is there a particular reason that Christopher Nolan (syncopy) was listed after Charles proven (atlas), who was listed after Emma Thomas (syncopy)? Was there a particular reason that Guillermo del Toro and Mary parent were listed after Jon jashni and Thomas tell (legendary)?

It's usually a contractual thing, sometimes they have (heated) discussions about who gets listed when and where.

More recently, with the advent of the PGA Producers Guild of America, the union can determine those credits like the WGA and DGA, but so few movies and producers are members yet, that it still comes down to either how the producer's deal/contract states they get credited, how the studio paying for it decides they want the credits, or some other arbitrary method.

What that means is - every movie is different. There is no standard crediting for producers (see the video above)

Do producers ever change their contractual obligations in regards to credits, and if so, why does this happen? For example, while Jon Jashni and Thomas Tull were both listed on one card for Pacific Rim, they were each listed separately and individually for Crimson Peak

It's all negotiated on a case-by-case basis: who put in (or brought to the table) more of the money, story, talent, etc. All of that is agreed to when the person comes on board the project; same with actors.
