Here's a nice little write-up from a local newspaper on a new Lifetime Movie (I know, I know...). The director/producer has some good advice and provides an interesting look at how she got her film made, albeit not the way she initially wanted.

Ain't nothin' wrong with a Lifetime movie. Content doesn't make itself, ya know.

I like her comments on watching films outside of the studio system.

True - I'd take doing a made for tv film to get my name out over not doing one at all any day of the week

Steven Spielberg did LOTS of TV work before he got the opportunity to do theatrical release films; so did many other directors and actors. It's probably the best place to learn about deadlines, budgets and playing to your audience while having producers and accountants breathing down your neck.

Great article, thanks for sharing. I'm actually moving to Houston in a week or two so the perspective on the scene is good to know.
