Looking for Director (reel required)

July 1st - 18th (3rd, 4th, and 5th off)

I am currently looking to hire a director to direct a few horror films we have funded. This is a paid position of $3,000 for each shoot that are scheduled for 15 days each. Will use the EPIC

You will be assigned a UPM to get you rolling on pre pro 45 days before filmming, to start setting up your vision, It will be your show and your production, each film will range about $50,000 - So you must make do

You can select your talent you desire -

This is an "In/Out" Job, now percentage/royalty will be acquired to you.

Unfortunately only at Directors that have a Reel, or past short or feature can apply to this.

Distribution is already locked in place with my new distribution company for iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, and a few more. So if you think you are right for this JOB and want to get distributed

I will come to set every few days to make sure everything is rolling smoothly, while im gone, your UPM will take care of everything for you so your focus can be on directing and not the other BS.

Requirements:

1) Must have a short, or feature to show, or a reel.
2) Must have a great attitude for others to follow
3) Must work well under stressful situations
4) Must have 3 references
5) Must have great vision

If you have these feel free to apply, there is no need to know everything about filmmaking, I see this as a misconception many times, This is why we pay for a crew, I want someone with vision. Knowing camera and lighting, etc... is just a bonus.

Post here, with the requirements so I may come to this thread as it builds. Please do not PM me your info, I do not want to loose anyone in this process.

Title of films, and other info will only be given to the person hired. This is an early bird posting so I can start getting this planned out.

**EDIT**[Update] For references: I will PM you for references if needed.

$200 a day isn't bad for someone just starting out.

Hell, I'd do it if it was just the 15 days.

Excellent opportunity here!

Placeholder for my reel, that I will be rapidly assembling overnight.

Pick me! Pick me!

Trailer for distributed feature: Linkage

Big focus in the past year on mastering lighting & atmosphere, before jumping into my next feature... in theory, late this year.

Edit: I'd totally give Directorik a reference, too. vv

The shorts above are just my own personal work. I've worked on numerous film and video projects not only in the States but in Europe and Asia as well. As such i am accustomed and experienced in negotiating diplomatically and maintaining a friendly atmosphere. Since virtually all the projects have been low budget, i have always worked under stressful conditions to accomplish my vision. And i have plenty of references.

2) Must have a great attitude for others to follow

2. My crew loves me so much, they show up for my shoots again and again, unpaid. They tell me it's my attitude :)

3) Must work well under stressful situations

I used to work as an analyst at an investment bank

4) Must have 3 references

How do I send you the references. What kind of references? Instructors? Other filmmakers who work with me?

5) Must have great vision

Dude, I can see the entire milky way, and that's when I'm not wearing my glasses

Hey Nick, I'd be interested in this opportunity. I've never directed anything in the narrative world, but I've produced and DPed short films, as well as worked in other capacities on feature films. I've also been shooting on and off with the Epic since November, and am quite familiar with the camera's workflow and capabilities.

Here are some projects I've worked on:

Ménage Détroit - Producer (Winner - Short Film, at Michigan Film Fest)

Period Piece - Producer/DP/Co-Writer

Glass Mansion Real Estate Video - Shot on the Epic

I'll throw my name in the hat!

I don't have any filmmaker-references, but my boss really likes me, and I did make this. :)

Also, I once at my entire birthday cake, before my friends could tell me that there was a stripper inside.

Oh... why the heck not. Might as well join in the fun and get some mileage out of these vids.

And I must be completely upfront with you... I lack great vision. *However* I recently got new glasses so I can see perfectly fine now.

Good luck to everyone!
