Hello all,
I am producing a short film for a friend, it's my first time doing anything like this, which means I'm learning on the fly. As the date of the shoot looms close (second weekend of May), I am feeling the need for some advice and have therefore signed up here.
Currently, the major obstacle to our production is the need for insurance.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice regarding insuring a short (2 weekends max) shoot?
I have read that it usually works out almost as expensive to insure for a short period as it does to pay a years premium. So far I have been quoted £750 plus 5% Insurance Premium Tax.
I really need an indication of how roughly much I should be paying, advice regarding which insurance firms to approach (is there someone who specialises in insurance for short films?).
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Randal
