I have seen:
Rendel, a Finnish superhero film. I did like this one a lot, really brutal and stylish and funny too.

4/5
Metropolis, 90 years old silent b&w film that still is really good and interesting to see. Altough this longer edit drags abit and some of the shots are really bad quality.

4/5

I recently watched BURNT (2015) starring Bradley Cooper. 6/10

It's a film about a washed up chef who's about to reclaim glory by obtaining his 3rd Michelin star. Its a story about repairing old wrongs and making amends by reaching culinary perfection, however, there's no real connection to the main character. Bradley Cooper is arrogant, angry, and unlikeable with no real redeeming qualities other than he can cook and was once quite hansome.

At the end of the film I was left felling like nothing much had really changed. The character arch didn't reach any new heights and Cooper's character hadn't really learnt anything new apart from learning to chill out a bit.

In this humble viewers opinion if you want to watch a great film about cooking you'd be better off watching one of these:

1. Chef (2014) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2883512/

2. Ratatouille (2007) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0382932/

3.Toast (2010) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1658851/

4. La Grande Bouffe (1973) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070130/

and lastly my mum's favourite

5. Chocolat (2000) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0241303/

Thor Ragnarok: 1 million stars out of 10. Reduced to 8 because of the Norway scenes being badly comped.

Wow, are you saying that aside from the comping, that's the greatest movie of all time?

No, I gave it 8 stars.

I gave 2001: a space odyssey 3 billion stars but the BBC 6 music dates it, so it goes down to 9.

Are you crazy 2001 A Space Odyssey was way beyond its time. It deserves a 10. Ragnarok was ok, same as Justice League.

I'm becoming a big fan of your rating system.
What's the highest amount of stars possible & have you ever given it?

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - 9/10
Great acting (especially Frances McDormand & Sam Rockwell) and Martin McDonagh's screenplay is truly great.

Been trying to watch a Christmas film every day in December. Today was The Santa Clause 2.

I give this a solid 8/10. This was one of my favourite Christmas films as a kid and it holds up. Funny, moving and action packed.

Radius - cool sci fi flick, I wondered how they would keep the plot up for a whole movie and I was satisfied. a few bizarre day-for-night scenes that didn't quite sell

Justice League and Thor: Ragnarok, both are okay, nothing spectacular.

Game of Thrones: Season Seven. Very good. Maybe 8 out of 10? Maybe I should give it a higher number. It's especially difficult to figure that when the bar is so high for this series. Not the best of the seasons, in my tentative judgement, but still A-grade. Been working through the books. Interesting to see the show diverge from them more and more in the later seasons. But I think I "get" their choices, so far. Anyway…that way the books retain a life of their own, which is a good thing.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2. Maybe 8.5 out of 10. Quite entertaining, while not quite as good as the first film. But it's even more sentimental, which I like.

The Hatred. Meh. Not bad. But sorry to say, if you watch the trailer you've seen the best few moments (the bed scene) the film has to offer. The rest is not so good by quite a bit. 5/10. Had more potential, I think though.

The Farthest: Voyager in Space (Netflix). Very nice documentary. 9/10
