What are the methods people have used to attract Investors to their project. My friend looked at a Paper Published top 100 Wealthiest people in his Country list, and goggled some of the persons on this to see if they had an interest in Film or Media...he then contacted the Person, explained his Project and set up a meeting....Has anyone used similar methods or have any other good ideas???? Whether they have or have not worked of course

Hitting a top 100 list won't work. These people are rich BECAUSE they don't make poor investments (film).
You need to hit people who have money that just fell into their hands (for whatever reasons). These people are likely to be more willing to be more adventurous with their money.

This is not true for every rich person. There are lots of reasons people invest in different things. In the United States, investing in art such as Film is 100% (yes, 100%) tax deductible. Lot's of rich people do not like paying taxes, and to lower their tax burdens, a lot (yes, a lot) of rich people put money in movies, (some help animal shelters) as they are potentially complete tax write-offs.
If you know rich people, really rich people, and they know you, it's possible to get them to invest. Downside is a tax write off, upside is money, fame, smoozing with Brangelina and Denzel
