I'm really glad i found this forum. I actually have so many questions and never thought to find a forum until this morning (duh).
I began life as a DJ and a photographer. My living actually comes from DJing (music production) but i am also an avid photographer. In the past few years i taught myself how to use 3D animation software (Cinema 4D, Maya and Element) and VFX in After Effects. The reason for learning these awesome skills was to incorporate some videos into my live DJ sets. Sometimes the venues i play in have video walls so i like to take people on a visual journey to accompany the music.
Lately i have been obsessing more about film. I am presently shooting with a Nikon D810, two Osmo cameras and a Nikon D7100. I mentioned the effects programs i use but i should add that i am using Premiere CS6 as my NLE. I am not that happy with Premiere so i would love suggestions on what to upgrade to (considering DaVinci Resolve or Lightworks).
