Hi!
I have studied acting but am still very new to the filmmaking side of things.
4 years ago, I worked on a short film with friends that I wrote, directed, produced and also acted. It's been on the shelf, as I haven't felt confident about it plus there were some other issues. But now I am hoping to finally complete it (e.g. extra editing, plus I need one more original song) and possibly even try to submit it to a couple film festivals. As many film festivals have a requirement about the year of completion, my question is:
Does my film count as being made in "2016" even though the majority of the film was shot and made in 2012~2013?
Also, as an ad-on, any recommendations for film festivals for newbies? The film has no dialog but has (will have) two separate song with lyrics. The length is: 8:27. The theme would be something like: "inspirational" and "human drama." It also has an international cast.
Thank you in advance for your help!
