Australian Indie Sci Fi Feature having North American Premiere at Fantasia!

Hi guys,

The team behind the Micro Budget feature Vessel are very excited to announce that the film will now have it's North American Premiere at Fantasia in Montreal! Making it the only feature from Australia this year to play at the festival.

If you haven't checked out the trailer or know what Vessel is about have a read below.

VESSEL is an Australian Indie Sci Fi Film shot on an ULTRA modest Micro Budget. It already had it's World Premiere at Sci Fi London where it recieved a glowing review in Twitch.com - you can read the review below.

Synopsis: An Alien interfacer, who has the ability to converse with ET's, has until the end of the day to rid himself of his gift or risk succumbing to its terrible side-effect. With that in mind he decides to reconnect with those who used to play a part in his life.

If anyone finds themselves in Montreal on the 28th definitely come check it out.

We used a RED Scarlet and a Red One, had an easy rig and a basic boom mic with a Zoom recorder, pretty bare bones, sub 20K budget. Basically five guys roaming around the city for two weeks

Oh and mostly shot in natural light, had a few china balls for soft light and a couple of palm sized LED's for night stuff.

Would be interested to see this. Liked the trailer. Great job.

You Aussies always hit way above your weight/per capita.

You say the audio set-up was a basic mic into a Zoom recorder. You didn't use a pre-amp/mixer then? Audio quality seems pretty decent.

By the way congrads on getting into the London Sci-Fi festival.

Hey cool! Nice work.

Out of curiosity, where did you rent your camera kit from? And did you guys pay for a colour grade..?

Thanks for the kind words guys.
- Camera kit was from Inspiration Studios, awesome guys down there.
-The mic was just straight plugged into the zoom. Audio recordist did a great job considering some of the locations. Then again my post audio guy did a unbelievable job cleaning the audio.
- Colour Grade was done by Final Post on their Nucoda Machine. We were lucky enough to have them donate their time and expertise for our film super awesome guys there as well.
