Would love some feedback on this Sound Re-design I did.

I spent the past few weeks doing a redesign of the entire sound for this short film based on the Dead Space game. I set myself the challenge of making every sound entirely from scratch, so not a single sound is taken from a sample library. Some of the sounds in it leave alot to be desired. For example the monster sounds, it's hard to make them without having some animal samples to add some more depth.
Anyway, this is my first time doing this so I would appreciate any tips and criticisms that you have.

Hope it's alright to post this here, if not apologies.

This is very good work by most people's standards, let alone for a first attempt. Well done!

Very atmospheric, and very sympathetic to the images.

If I was being really churlish, I'd say there's two or three 'impact' moments that could be bigger - for example, when he hits the floor right at the end. But it's very good stuff.

It would be interesting to hear what kinds of sources you used for the sounds.

Oh wow thanks! :D

Yeah I suppose there could of been more body to that sound.

Well every sound apart from the footsteps was just from around my house. The large machine type sound was a mixture of power tools that had been pitched differently. The monster noises are all vocal so screams/growls then some pitchshifting on them. The background ambience is a combination of a kitchen extractor fan and a vacuum. The gunshots were made by combining a bathroom lock, a sm57 inside the bowl of a toilet while its being flushed and the pop from a propane blow torch. Thats the main ones I can think of without checking the logic session again.
