Help! Panasonic GH3 Exposure Problem

Recently got a GH3 and what's really bothering me is that the exposure doesn't lock even in manual mode. Say I point the camera at a bright window then at the floor, the exposure actually changes and adjusts to it. The AE/AF Lock doesn't work in manual either.

Could this be the cause of my using a zoom lens?

Would prime lenses fix this annoyance?

Is there any way to get rid of the spot metering?

Seems unfair because even my crappy Nikon D5100 had AE lock for video.

Nevermind. I figured it out. It was just the LCD screen changing brightness so I could see it better under low light. It made no adjustments to the exposure of video.
