Mini Crane M1

Used one of these a week ago:

Not the same brand, but structurally almost exactly the same so I assume it's from the same source. It's very compact and portable, and reasonably stable - takes some practice though to keep the camera from wobbling a bit at the end of a move. Considering the price and portability it's hard to beat - I'll be posting the film we used it on in a couple of days.

No, I missed that - these are similar designs but not as close as I thought. The aluminum one is slightly heavier and doesn't have quite as much reach, only two sections instead of three. The mini crane is definitely interesting, I'd like to try one in person to see if the added length affects stability at all.

It doesn't seem cool because they have blatantly ripped off my friends design!

He came up with the original DSLR Devices crane and this is just a copy with minor changes. He presented it at BVE last year, put loads of money in just for another 5 'companies' to rip off his product.
