Advanced courses / workshops in directing

Advice needed on advanced courses / workshops in directing

Hi,

I'm an experienced director in documentary for quite some time however I am transferring into fiction / drama on my next project. I am looking at studying in NYC for a while maybe 3 - 8 months or whatever it takes as I wish to do some networking there as part of the next project.

Can anyone recommend a place to study that focuses primarily on the practicle side and not the Academic i.e. European Film since the turn of the century kind of thing and more directing scene with actors etc. and script analysis etc. programmes that have experienced tutors who have made features.

I've heard many good and bad reports about the NYFA and the Digital Film Academy. NYU also only does short workshops or 4 years.

I am not a beginner as I am AVID, Camera, Producer and Director (doc) experienced so I'm looking for somewhere that has advanced programmes for experienced industry peoples.
