We're now working on it to develop it into a full short film.
I'm trying to find some good British mystery, adventure, thriller films. I kind of want to go for that old school Steven Spielberg mystery/adventure feel. But with a British influence.
Some American films that come to mind with the sort of tone I want would be: Super 8, Close Encounters of the third kind, The Lovely Bones. Some of them deal with very dark themes, (as does the scene I did) but there is still a sort of...clean/pg 13 adventurous feel to it if you know what I mean. I don't want to go for pure bleakness aka The Road.
Anyone know of any British films they can recommend me that sort of fit the bill?
Only one I can think of is the Red Riding trilogy, although that's quite a bit darker in tone than what I am going for.
