Help Finding a Certain Material for Props

I'm looking to create a prop trash can lid that can bend with the same flexibility as a a genuine metal trash can lid.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcJM1Z3Trfo

This is the inspiration for the scene its needed for. It's a metal trash can, like would be used in old-timey London. On top of that, it's being used for a continuous short, so the option of using two separate pieces, one clean, on dented, is out.

I'm open to using whatever material can achieve this convincingly. Thanks, dudes.

Welcome to indietalk.

That is a standard trash can lid. They are quite flexible and he was
very precise and careful how he hit his head with it. 90% of what
you saw was acting. The other 10% was the sound that very light
piece of metal makes close to a mic.

These cans usually come in 3 gauges of steel; heavy, medium, commercial. The "commercial" is the flimsiest at 27 gauge.

In the example, it's real as stated. Physical comedians train how to fall and do such things.

I got it wrong and edited. Here ya go:

Commercial-Duty: 27 Gauge (Strong)
Medium-Duty: 25 Gauge (Stronger)
Heavy-Duty: 23 Gauge (Strongest)
