You need to grow a thicker skin. ONE person has this reaction. ONE. AndClearly I used the wrong approach, and in the wrong forum. I'll find another venue.
Adieu
So stand up to the PC police we have here. Show everyone you haveIt has nothing to do with skin. I'm just so FREAKIN tired of PC.
So stand up to the PC police we have here. Show everyone you have
a thick skin and can challenge the ONE person who is so PC he feels
the need to stop you. Don't just cave in an back down. When you back
down the PC police win.
I'm behind your quest for a female director 100%. Let CF pull out his
dictionary and quote all he wants. So what? YOU want to talk to women
directors. Stand up. Tell the dictionary quoting PC cop that you are practicing
affirmative action. They understand that....
"positive steps taken to increase the representation of women and minorities in areas of employment, education, and business from which they have been historically excluded. "
I have specifically looked for and hired women DP’s. I exclusively
use women as AD’s - when I put out work notices I specify I want
a woman for the job. Several years ago I tried to find and hire a
woman audio recordist. I didn’t get one resume. I know exactly
two women juicers and one grip. That’s unacceptable to me.
Asking specifically for a woman director is seen by some as sexist
and discriminatory. To them I say, “So what?”, YOU hire how you
want and leave me alone. They want to come and protest my set,
come protest my set. I, too, am tired of the PC police.

Tell THEM a producer is being sexist if he wants to interview women directors.
