MONTAGE OR WHAT?

I want to show a guy going around town to different stores and randomly asking for the manager.
would this be a montage?
so far i've only seen that used when it is a continuous event like hurrying up to get out of a room before the bad guy comes in. so they use a montage to show the guy picking up the little things..

but is it used in my case? if not.. what is?

A montage would work. Have dialogue in the first one so we know what he is asking, and set the rest to music, until the conclusion.

one more question.
if i copyright a first draft, and then move things around, change some dialog, maybe even a characters name or setting, should i re-copyright it?

What Indie said... Set it up FIRST so we understand the rest of what that character is doing.

As to copyright... If there is a significant change, by all means register another copyright.

maybe set it up so that at the beginning we see the guy going into the first store and saying " can i speak to the manager" and then the clerk responding either way.
Then in production film him asking again and again.
In post cut it so that it is not always him asking , maybe we could see for example:
Clerk response
Manager coming out and guy not having any idea why he wanted him
guy walking out of shop manager looking at him blankly
Guy asking for manager
Clerk
clerk
guy

* That is probably so confusing ..
