Help with FCP

I had an editor that was cutting my film on FCP 6, my film was shot on digital(not HD). The project has now landed back in my lap and I have FCP 4, everything was transferred on an external hard drive, I keep getting errors trying to import the files into my Mac system. Is there a compatibility issue with working on FCP 6 to 4? Or possibly some of the files are actually corrupt?

It is simply a compatibility issue. You can upgrade or...

Have your other editor export an XML file that you should then be able to pull in to at least get your edits in place.

Otherwise, you get to start over. Depending on how far you are, this might be a PITA. At least the footage is all imported though, you should be able to just make a new project and import the footage files.
