Kodachrome 40

Anyone know where I can get my hands on some?? I know Kodak has discontinued it, but I didn't think it would be so hard to find. Ebay has a few rolls listed for 2 or 3 times what they originally sold for. I'm looking to buy like 20+ rolls.

Any suggestions?

Also, anyone know how Ektachrome is it different from Kodachrome? I will be shooting in low-light situations, so maybe ektachrome is better?

Thanks,

Robert

Yes, I contacted them earlier today and was told that they have none in stock.

Be very very wary of K40 used. Check the EXPIRATION DATE (in use since 1990 min)

Heh, yeah I've seen some on eBay from the 1970's.

If I go with Ektachrome, can anyone tell me what the difference would be visually?

There is a newe Ektachrome 64 ASA film that will be your best bet, or get the 50 ASA negative film from SPECTRA FILM & VIDEO.

The Ekatachrome just has somie different color properties. I'm not sure how to describe it but the reds are not as vibrant, and the grain structure has a different texture to it. Mabye a D.P. with more poetry can describe this better...

Kodachrome is no longer made for Super 8 but still available in regular 8mm and 16mm. Some dealers may still have some Super 8 stock left. Check with John Schwind at:
