Worth what? The imdb link you put in there seems spammy to me.

Just saw it and loved it. While a lot of movies are based on simplistic adventure scenarios, this content rich movie is based on a book, using credible science. While a little reminiscent of APOLLO 13's "We die if we don't use every ounce of limited resources", I found THE MARTIAN to be to have far more scope and adventure.

It was also great to see a movie that shows international cooperation, without stereotyping a character, like the goofy Russian guy in ARMAGEDDON. Movies are so influential, that I think it is good karma to see something positive about some other nations.

Ridley Scott does epic, first class looking sci-fi. Like PROMETHEUS, you feel like you are on another planet. The ship, habitat and rover vehicle look like the real deal. Ironically, both movies feature a giant sandstorm and staples! See it and you'll know what I mean about the second item. Coincidentally, Scott's next movie is PROMETHEUS 2, which starts shooting in January.

Those who are looking for a bunch of action scenes won't find a lot in THE MARTIAN. I was glued to the screen for every moment, though! After a lackluster summer of movies, this is a great kick-off to fall.

Yeah, I think he's trying to get people to view it illegally. I won't click on it, but I guarantee that's what it is.

Unfortunately, I guess we're still stuck with this being the "The Martian Thread."

Saw it today too. Thought it was pretty decent. I guess I forgot about and didn't think to compare it to APOLLO 13. I was rather lumping it with Gravity. Now I'll lump it with both of those.

Really looking forward to Prometheus 2.

Me either. Didn't seem prudent, especially after reading Cryogenic's post. But then just now I said, ohh screw it and clicked. Yeah, looks like what Cryo said. Seems it is a link to some page on imdB.com, but, needless to say, I did not click on any of the links there.

Anyone else hoping this is a prequel to Interstellar?
