Any tripod heads that can do this? - IndieTalk

I want to be able to hook up a head to a dolly or slider, and move it while sliding as well. But not just any head. Are they any that can almost somersault the camera on any axis? It doesn't have to go over 180, but has to go at least 180 degrees. Starting on a vertical axis, then rotating to a horizontal axis, in the process? Kind of like a ball that can rotate any which way possible accept not for too far down and around, or you will see the tripod or dolly of course.

I haven't been around for a while but your posts have come on quite a bit!!!

How's your short going? Have you completed and put it out there yet?

My short is not bad, I have completed a final edit, but need to mostly find someone who can finish the audio editing, since I have been having trouble and it's my first time. The video editing is easy but the audio I will need some sort of training on, or someone else. Finding music and a colorist would be good too and I'll get on it as soon as I get some more free time to look harder. How did yours go?

It's so-so. It's OK, nothing more than that, and as a first experiment I learned a lot which was what I needed. Currently, I am also at the music and colourist stage and the colouring will be extremely painful. Also, I have to do a trailer. Funnily enough, audio was also my biggest issue to date but I learned how to deal with most of the issues around this.

My editor unfortunately did not do very much on it, just sat on it for 8 months so I took it back and completed a rough cut myself. In the time it took my editor to do very little, I shot a trailer for another short.

In addition, I have another short in pre which will rock. I've learned from the creative mistakes of the first short and am really confident the next one will be good. I'm excited!

Cool, I'm excited about future projects as well. I sent you an email to talk more about yours. I am curious to what you mean he sat on it. As in did nothing?

As far as heads to put the camera on, those ones you people recommended look nice but are a little bit much in price. You can get a camera for the one that costs $500 and some. I think I will just devise a DIY method, since there doesn't seem to be much cheaper out there. But I may consider those too, in the future, thanks!
