Think Shaun of the Dead.

A group of teenage friends go to watch a film. Suddenly, "we interrupt this programme to bring you breaking news" "STAY IN YOUR HOME". There has been a zombie apocalypse
So, for once in a zombie film, the friends do just that.

They sit and wait, making conversation.
The film is a short about the troubles they face, the television that's broadcast and (primarily) the discussions they have.
The protagonist also ends up kissing the girl, there is a beat of romance and then a SLAP.

What do you think? Is it worth writing and would anyone like to help with long-distance directing?

remove the unnecessary romance and I think it's good. Shaun of the Dead's romance subplot felt unnecessary, so this one seems the same.

It makes makes me think of that.

If there was a zombie apocalypse, nothing would change because they're so lazy, and they and the camera never leave the bedroom anyway.

Sounds like a cross between Matinee, Night of the Living Dead, and either MST3K or Rifftrax. Could be great.
